Kenny, his wife Sheri, and his son Daniel moved to Athens FUMC in June 2014. Kenny was reared in Florence, AL, while Sheri is a native of Huntsville. Daniel was born in Lexington, AL, while Kenny and Sheri were serving at Lexington FUMC. Kenny entered full-time Christian ministry in 1989 and has effectively served churches in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church. His passion is to share the good news of Jesus with everyone. His sermons are biblically based and call for individuals to respond to the Holy Spirit's leadership.

Kenny is a second career minister. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Secondary Education. He has taught in the Tarrant and Montgomery school systems. He has owned his own business and has managed a home mortgage company, all before answering God's call to the ministry.

After answering God's call to ministry, he received a Master of Divinity from Emory's Candler School of Theology; coursework for Doctorate of Ministry at Drew University.
