A multi-week focus of praying for Athens First Methodist Church: Beginning Feb. 2025
Prayer is communion with God. It is an opportunity to come to Him with thanksgiving, praises, confessions, and intercession. We live in a busy time and the world is pulling from many directions. However, if you have only 5 minutes each day, quiet yourself and come to Him anytime, anywhere. Whether you find quiet in Garth Chapel or our prayer garden, or while on a walk or in a peaceful place in your home, God loves you and His strongest desire is to spend time with His children. During this time of transition, let us come together to pray for the direction and leadership of Athens First Methodist Church. Make it a priority to focus on the topic/verse of the week and pray for our church as we grow closer to Him.
Week 1 Feb. 2 - 8
Pray that the church would devote itself to prayer.
“Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.”

Week 2 Feb. 9 - 15
Pray that our church will be in unity with the Lord.
“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
