The Denominational Affiliations Committee, with the approval of the Administrative Board, has scheduled two informational meetings with representatives of the Global Methodist Church (GMC). The purpose of the meetings is to give our congregation the opportunity to hear current information about the GMC. These meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th at 6:00 PM and
Sunday, September 14th at 4:00 PM.
The Committee voted to offer two different time options for meetings to accommodate the schedules for a larger number of our church members. We are hopeful that many members of our congregation will attend one or both of the meetings to become familiar with the GMC.
The church email address is being provided for those who have questions that they would like to have addressed at the meeting(s).
Please submit any questions by September 5th to office@athensfmc.org
We look forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming meetings!
In Christian love,

Dear Congregation,
The Denominational/Affiliations Committee recommends to the Administrative Board that our church members explore opportunities with a representative(s) from the Global Methodist Church (GMC). The purpose of the meetings is to give the congregation the opportunity to hear current information about the GMC. There will be two in-person meetings with a representative(s) to be scheduled in September.
With gratitude and in service,

Here at Athens First Methodist Church, we know that everyone has a story.

redeem it and give it another ending. That's why we proclaim that we can not stop
speaking about what we have seen and heard!
All are welcome!

Join our prayer wall
Prayer is a key part of our church. We have created a prayer wall on our app to share prayer needs and requests. This is a powerful tool for bringing people together in prayer for others. When we pray we develop a burden and then a action to move. By participating in our prayer wall, individuals can feel connected to a larger community and know that they are not alone in their struggles. It is a beautiful way to show love and support for others, and to honor the power of prayer.
